Michelle L. Maltese, DDS

After graduating from Notre Dame Preparatory High School, Dr. Michelle Maltese obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Detroit Mercy as part of their seven year Accelerated Dental Program. She continued her pursuit to become a dentist by graduating from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2015, gaining profound clinical experience working complex cases in the city of Detroit.

Dr. Maltese has practiced in the Rochester and Shelby Township area since her graduation in 2015 and is excited to practice dentistry where she was born and raised. She loves seeing familiar faces in her office and welcoming new members to her dental family. She welcomes patients of all ages and has updated and remodeled the entire practice to give her patients an all-digital experience!

Dr. Maltese takes pride in getting to know each patient and treating them like they are her own family. As a dentist, her goal is to provide quality dentistry and to educate her patients about all dentistry has to offer. She has completed numerous hours of continuing education courses through local study clubs, webinars and annual seminars to ensure that she is treating patients with the most advanced and current level of care, including techniques, materials and technology within the field. She believes that oral health is connected to overall health and treats each patient with this view in mind to help them achieve the best possible results from their care. Dr. Maltese has been named as a top dentist by HOUR Detroit Magazine in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Her most recent studies include advanced training in CEREC digital dentistry, Invisalign® clear aligner therapy and dental treatments for sleep apnea. She is laser-certified and is an active Invisalign provider. Dr. Maltese’s favorite treatments to perform include cosmetic dentistry, teeth whitening, fillings, crowns, bridges and dentures. Dr. Maltese has also completed additional education and training in pediatric dentistry and is confident in helping her younger patients have positive dental experiences when they visit her office.

Coming from a family with a strong health-care background and a tradition of community service, she looks forward to serving and giving back to this community. Dr. Maltese is certified by the North East Regional Boards, and holds active memberships in the American Dental Association® (ADA), the Michigan Dental Association (MDA), the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA), the Macomb County Dental Society and the Oakland County Dental Society. This past year, she began interviewing for the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry as part of its admissions interview committee. It has been a rewarding process getting to converse with future dentists, helping her connect with current thinking and approaches, both in dentistry, and life in general.

Currently, she resides in Rochester with her husband, Chris, and children Alena, Lorenzo and Carmela. Dr. Maltese and her family also have a rescue dog named Scarlet. When not in the office, Dr. Maltese enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, baking and staying active.
